The short version. We collect what we need to run L7 SMS Pacing, we don't sell personal information, and we never share mobile numbers or text messaging opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
1. Who this covers
This policy explains how L7, LLC, doing business as LeveL7 and as LeveL7 Computer Repair, Network Administration & Digital Marketing Services ("L7", "we", "us") handles personal information in connection with the L7 SMS Pacing website at l7.chat, the web app, and related services (the "Service").
- Customers and their users. For the businesses that sign up and the people they invite, we decide how account information is used and are responsible for it as described here.
- Message recipients. When a business uses the Service to text its own contacts, that business decides who to text and why, and is responsible for that information. We process it on the business's behalf as a service provider, under our Terms of Service. Questions about a business's texts are best sent to that business; see section 10.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), business name, workspace address and time zone.
- Business and registration details needed to register sending numbers with carriers, such as legal business name, address, website, tax ID, contact phone and use-case descriptions.
- Billing details and messages you send to our support.
- Security settings, such as two-factor authentication. Authenticator secrets are stored encrypted; recovery codes are stored only as hashes.
Information customers put into the Service
- Contacts and lists (typically names, mobile numbers, and any custom fields a customer adds), consent and opt-out records, message templates and images, and campaign settings.
- Message activity: messages sent, delivery and failure results from carriers, replies received, opt-outs, and clicks on tracked links (time of click and browser type, used to filter out automated link scanners).
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in and security data: IP address, browser and device type, and the times you sign in, used to keep sessions secure and stop abuse.
- Service logs about errors and performance. The marketing website does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: send and pace messages, forward replies, and show reports.
- To register brands, campaigns and numbers with carriers and messaging providers, as customers request.
- To keep the Service and recipients safe: authenticate users, detect fraud, spam and abuse, enforce opt-outs, quiet hours and limits, and investigate complaints.
- To bill, provide support, and send account and security notices.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
- To understand and improve the Service using account and usage information. We do not use the content of customers' messages or their contact lists to market to anyone.
4. Mobile numbers and SMS consent
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent records are not shared with any third parties, except the providers that carry messages and help run the Service on our behalf, as described in section 5, and where required by law.
Mobile numbers that customers add are used only to deliver that customer's messages and to keep opt-out records, so that a person who replies STOP is not texted again. We do not sell, rent or trade mobile numbers, and we do not combine one customer's contacts with another's.
7. How long we keep information
We keep account information while the account is open. When an account closes, we keep customer data for 30 days so it can be exported, then delete it within a further 60 days, except where we must keep it longer by law, for billing records, or until it ages out of backups. Opt-out and consent records may be kept as long as needed to prevent texting people who opted out and to answer compliance questions. Security logs are kept for a limited period for investigation.
8. Security
We protect information with measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption of provider credentials and authenticator secrets at rest, hashed passwords, two-factor authentication, sign-in rate limits, per-workspace data separation, and access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected customers without undue delay after confirming a security incident that affects their data.
9. Your choices and rights
- You can view and update account details in the app, and close your account by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising (we do neither). We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
- To make a request, email [email protected]. We will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
- If your information is in a customer's workspace, we will pass your request to that customer, who decides how to respond, and help them do so.
10. If you received a text
Texts sent through the Service come from the business named in the message, not from L7. To stop texts from that business, reply STOP to the number that texted you; we record the opt-out automatically and block further messages from that business to your number. Reply HELP for the business's contact details. If you believe you were texted without consent, or want to make a privacy request, email [email protected] with the number that texted you.
11. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Where information is processed
We and our service providers process information in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For material changes we will notify customers by email or in the app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
